6 Reasons Why You Should Move To Hull
From our excellent art, huge minster, quirky streets and of course the Humber Bridge there’s lots of reasons why we think Hull is a great place to live.
If you’re thinking about moving to our wonderful city, here’s our top six reasons of why we love living here!
It’s Incredibly Affordable
Where else in the UK could you buy a nutritious meal for less than £1? Okay maybe not that nutritious but a decent pattie butty and chips will keep you full. Not to mention our affordable pints! We don’t just have cheap food and beer here either, heading to Hull will get you the most house for your money. The city has recently been named the number one cheapest places to rent within the UK according to NoLettingGo.
If you really want to compare living costs across the UK’s different cities, we’ve found a handy tool from Money Super Market that lets you compare the average prices of flats and houses for sale and rent based on information and data from Zoopla and RightMove.
You can have a play around with it here.
It’s Home To A Number of Sports Teams
If you’re a sport fan we boast two great rugby teams here in Hull, Hull FC & Hull KR, as well as our championship league football team Hull City. We’re also home to Hull Pirates, Hull’s successful Ice Hockey Team as well as boxing legends Tommy Coyle & Luke Campbell.
It has a lot of History and Culture
Believe it or not Hull has played its part in some of the biggest stories in history. From our fishing heritage to the abolishment of the slave trade in Britain, our historical events have made the city what it is today.
After being named the UK City of Culture in 2017, the city’s art and culture background has gone from strength to strength too. The city has plenty of museums that are worth taking a trip to visit and most of them are free, bonus!
You Can Always Find Quirky Streets Walking Around The City
There’s plenty of hidden gems in Hull, walking around the city’s streets you will find an abundance of trendy bars, creative art spaces and even multi-coloured dancing fountains. Nowadays most people when walking in Hull will stick to the paths they’re used to but venturing off could lead you to small independent boutiques, quirky coffee shops or fascinating architecture.
There’s Always Plenty To Do
There’s no reason to be bored in Hull, whether its taking a trip to The Deep, heading on a family day out or going to late-night cocktail bars, the city has something to offer for everyone. The marina is great for a walk on a hot summer’s day whilst visiting the shops and museums on a rainy day will keep everyone entertained – plus there’s tons of amazing food and drink places to try if you’re out and about in the city.
You’ll never meet people quite like the people from Hull
The people from Hull are often described as a friendly tight knit family that will support each other and we would have to agree! If you’re ever looking for a friendly chat you can guarantee you’ll find it down at your local pub, on your next bus ride or even walking down the street. We may not have the best accent but we like to think we’re a friendly bunch with a lot to give. 😊
